The show's treatment of Brennan pisses me off every time I think of it. The whole pregnancy thing was just the tip on the iceberg that sent it crashing down. Honestly, I think they would have been much better off trying to conspicuously hide Emily's pregnancy. It might have been bit obvious, but at least it would have stuck to characterization and everything else.
The other thing is how in S1 and sort of in S2 and 3 she was an actual person. She was awkward and didn't get references at times, but it was to a believable degree. I'm pretty sure that since, she's not got a reference that she did get in the first season. She became a caricature, and right now she's the shell of who she used to be.
Although, I have to hand it to Emily, she has saved some of the worse writing imaginable. Vincent's death don't even get me started on that they didn't even respect it. They blatantly and obviously used VNM's death to further B/B and that is just not cool. The only reason I haven't sent angry letters is because honestly, he's such a fantastic actor in Alphas with such a fantastic character that I'm glad Bones can't bring him back.
